We care about our planet. For this reason, Knot-for-profit aims to always work sustainably and ethically.

local businesses

We always source our materials as locally as possible for all of our products. This lowers our carbon footprint by ensuring less emissions are created from excessive travel.

Purchasing materials from Australian businesses also helps to support local shops, allowing the community economy to flourish.

Materials

As part of Knot-For-Profit's sustainability, I reuse a lot of the paracord offcuts to make zipper pulls or keyrings. Then, when the left-over paracord segments get too small to make anything out of them, I keep them to create interesting artworks. By doing this, I limit the amount of waste produced, and give purpose to otherwise wasted materials.

Compostable mailers

In order to reduce plastic waste in our world, one other initiative which I am doing is to ship products in compostable mailers. These mailers look and feel like plastic, but are actually 100% home-compostable, made from a combination of PBAT (a compostable co-polymer) and cornstarch. They also have two adhesive strips, so customers can reuse the mailer if they want!
